Shout Out – Speak Up – Defund the Police

Join us and remind City Council they have a responsibility to defund the police and invest in equitable communities! At the last City Council Meeting, our councilmembers chose to prioritize police and community control over equitable public safety. During the City Council Meeting this Tuesday, July 7th, 2020, we will gather at City Hall and take over the public comment period via Zoom to protest and remind them of our demands: Defund the police, reimagine public safety, and invest in equitable communities. Join us at 6:00pm to discuss our vision for equitable public safety and learn some chants. The public comment session begins at 6:30pm. Bring a sign and come ready to shout out and defend BIPoC and Immigrant communities in Concord! After our call-ins, we will remain in the meeting to support Raise the Roof as they fight for housing justice and racial justice. Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities are the most affected by COVID-19. Please wear a mask and maintain 6 feet distance.
